Tea Tree Oil

I JUST ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO SHARE THIS!!

Around Monday or Tuesday this week, I picked up my cat to say goodbye before I came to work and there was this HORRID FAT and NASTY tick on the back of her head... right where she can't reach all too well...

I didn't have any tick killer stuff in the house and didn't really know what to do about it but thought I'd grab the first thing I knew MAY have an effect: Tea Tree Oil. I dropped about two, maybe three drops on the bugger itself and before I could do anything further, Madam decided this was enough and took off. I resolved to check on Google for some solutions without having to go to the Pet Deli for some yeghie stuff.

When I got home, I grabbed hold of her to check, and lo and behold the tick was GONE! I inspected the spot to make sure it wasn't from her scratching and trying to get the Tea Tree Oil off, and thus breaking the body off from the tick's head... but nothing! Ticky gone!

Re: Tea Tree Oil

LOL, that tick probably had no idea what hit it, and to top it of the antiseptic in the oil probably helped ease any infection your cat may have gotten from it. but knowing cats (we have three) she was probably not very impressed with you.

Re: Tea Tree Oil

Oh, but are cats EVER impressed with anything (other than food and cuddles) that you do for them!

Re: Tea Tree Oil

It depends, the food have to be wiskers and freshly poured every morning and cuddles are always on their terms.  (No touchie tummy)  Lucky tree tree oil is one of the two oils you can use on a skin without harming it, the other being Lavender.  I got your mail this morining and realized that I am out of Bergamot I will find some this week and send you your package.

Re: Tea Tree Oil

YOWZER! Well, if you can't find any Bergamot then don't fret. I can always pick another oil... I don't have many in my collection and I'm trying to build it up so whether I get what I want now, or the next one.... or the next one... at least I'll be getting ANY!

Suddenly that last statement sounds a wee bit... ja, nevermind.
