Re: Tarot Cards

Hi there

Do you sometimes get an upside down card, I just don't see how you can get one of those.

Re: Tarot Cards
Hello LadyHawk,

No, I have not (yet) had an upside-down card. I tend to keep my cards all facing the same way, and I am very careful when shuffling the deck to pay very careful attention to the cards, concentrating on the intent of my question.

I think with the type of deck I use, it is not really possible, as you can determine when some cards are upside down when you work with them, without looking at the front.

Also, I think, the deck I use lends itself naturally to cards that are
not upside-down.

Let me know what you feel about upside-down cards?

Re: Tarot Cards

hi there.

by upside down do you mean the picture is upside down or the face is down?

generally i have seen people that use tarot cards just turn the picture the right way round if it comes out upside dow. so i dont know if it means anything. but in the runes if you place one upside down then it has a different meaning.

May peace be upon you.

Re: Tarot Cards
Greetings Bartimaeus,

With “upside down” cards, you would mean the card is “face up”, but the picture is “upside down” when you deal it. And very similar to runes, when a card is dealt upside down, it usually has a different meaning. I would also not recommend you turn the card around; it should be read as it was revealed to you.

The Tarot Deck that I use is the Goddess Oracle Set, and I find that Oracle cards give “messages” to me, rather than have certain “meanings.” Each cards has various messages (meanings) and it is up to the reader to interpret the “message” that is being communicated to you in relation to your questions / divinations.

aaahh tarot

Hi everyone Dragons Den.

I am having a great time reading your posts people...Tarot cards being one of my FAV forms of divination.  At the moment I use the dragons deck which i absolutely love becuase I learn something new from them everyday!  Not only for myself or the querent but also about ancient cultures and dragon mythology...as they are all based on real creatures in history.

My cards definately have their 'off days' - To keep their energies in good stead i place my Lapis stone or sometimes - esp when they are acting up - my red jasper stones on top the deck under a good moon.  definately feel the difference afterwards!

When i place a card upside down the meaning of the card becomes inverted!  So it is translated as an obstacle and - with the meaning if the straight up card as the possible outcome or even consequence!  Once you get to know your cards tho...you get to know eachone as an old friend foe or trick!

Love and Light
