Hi there,
Well being my first post on here ( I have < 10 K on irrelevant international forums) I thought I would say Hi !!!
Judging from views vs. responses I am not expexting much back.
Since the dawn of my time, since I can recall in anyway : I always felt spiritually empty and not fullfilled. I was Raised in the good old "en gee" or NG / Dutch Reformed conservative home, since 1977.
When I was 18 or so, satisfying my ever inquiring mind I started to question the whole "bible" theory, as it never made sense to me, so I did discover Wicca/Paganism after searching endless relegions to find the answers. Up to 21 I read up and "absorbed" what I could. I got distracted on a carreer driven / financial satisfactory self, fo almost a decade, now I am 31 and the Pagan ways have crossed my path yet again. It is like it has always ben inside me, just absorbing what it could, on my 30th birthday, I had this emptiness - a space waiting to be filled.
As the puzzle of life unfold itself, so did my entire being. I coincidently ran into fellow pagans at a BBQ after I told them, there is something about his palce, there is something about you, something I can not describe. So this is when I realised, it is time to persue my chosen path, shown to me a decade ago and only realised recently. So with this acceptance, spiritually I am indulged with feeling, blessing and emotion, something lead me to here ( better late then never )
Please feel free to give me any good advice, pointers and guidelines, as I am an absorbent soul - following my journey to here, and where-ever it takes me from here.

Welcome pierre, wanted to write back so that you can see that I am at least engaging with the site. Heres something that I am working on at the moment. I am beginning to see that I create my environment (reality) much more than I had ever realized. The world cooperates with my perseptions of it, and supplies a world the way that I expect it to be. So the world is a mirror for me. If i dont have abundance, holding on to energy, my life will feel stalled, slow. If I expect that I am unlovable, nothing anyone says will change that, but whats more, i will find people who will affirm this. If i expect that the wolrd is heading for a crash, it will be. If my family is expressing frustration around me, I must ask, what part of me is frustrated that is being reflected to me? Conversely, if i fill my home with healing energy, I will be healed. If i focus on love and joy that is how my life will unfold (i imagine, although I am still working on it). I am not feeling like I am explaining my premises very well or even giving good examples, so I hope that you have an idea of what I am talking about to start with.
It feels like the blanket of the reality is lifted and there is clear space revealed underneath. Whereby, I am responsible for how my life turns out, much more than I ever imagined. Therefore words are spells. Thoughts are spells. Your Life and how you choose it is a spell. SoI feel like I am getting ready to reconstruct much of what is around me. I wonder how tangible the difference will be, or like so many philosophies, it changes little. I hope not. So I choose to think as positively about things as possible, whether it be global warming, politics, safety, washing dishes or finding money for bills.
Here i find myself, an old cynic, wanting to rebuild my world from the heart. What an exciting journey. I have so far to go.
In the meantime, the reality under the blanket is infinitely malleable, well, technically. Therefore 'magic', as a science we are just beginning to understand, is not so far fetched, although it may require an active imagination.

Hello Pierre, and hello Jean!
I feel I absolutely have to share as well! Both your posts are so beautifully written and quite inspiring. Jean, you speak from a place of authenticity and observation. Pierre, you speak from a place of questioning.
As noted in one or two of my other posts, I have been brought up a Christian as well. In school (I was propped into an Art School from Std 8) I also started rebelling and hating ... no, just despising the Church. My longing was the dark and Gothic, but my fear was "what if it is not what I trully connect with?"
Jean, from your post I had the urge to share with you both that I am currently reading "Ask And It Is Given - The Teachings of Abraham" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I'm a slow reader (as also noted previously) but up until about a week ago I was very adamant that all this "create your reality" and "Law of Attraction" is all a load of bollocks because not anything is happening the way I created it... but reading more and more has slowly opened my eyes to what I am really creating.
Guys, if you have been looking for some answers, READ! Read anything. Reading changes you. It inspires you and then motivates you from within.
Another tip: when unhappy, when in times of stress, SING! When your self-esteem is taking a knock or you need to feel confident in a crowd, sing! If you don't want to sing out loud, then HUMMM a tune! I walked into a shopping mall yesterday and immediately caught a tune and started humming. Immediately without thinking about it, I looked up and was able to smile at strangers! Music is a language of itself and has magick beyond your imagination. Reverbarate and go BIG!

Welcome to our forum, yea it’s still a little slow around here, we were offline for a while but it’ll pick up again soon enough, it’s already starting to look better. We all start somewhere for many of us our path started by questioning the dogma’s we were taught, the most important thing is to be true to yourself and follow the path that is right for you.

Hi all
Another thing that works well when feeling down is starting to say thank you for the universe. Say thank you for all the little things and all the big things in your life and soon you will find that it is a great world we live in. Best of all once you start saying thank you more will come your way.
I know in the beginning it is very hard to change your mindset from being synical to being positive but hang in there is becomes easier the more you do it. |
