I'm putting an excerpt from a mail i recently sent to someone who needed some guidance here, I'm sure he wont mind.
For many of us who have embraced alternative religions and spiritual believes after growing up in a Christian household, it started with realizing that the bible is nothing but a book, written 2000 years ago with no context in modern life, my favorite quote that I feel completely describes the mentality of “believers” is “We know the bible is true because the bible says that the bible is true”, now if that’s not a leap of faith what is, but then it's not called "the fear of god" for nothing, most Christians are too afraid of damnation to question anything they are told to believe.
In the last few years we have realized that Alternative religions and spiritual believes are growing more popular at a rapid pace, partially because people today are more educated, and as a result, no longer simply take things such as the “fact” that the bible is the word of god for granted, people have started asking why, when, how and most importantly by who. I think that we take the path we need to travel in our own way, my wife is Wiccan, to the full extent of the word, it is her religion and her believe system, she grew up a Christian, but found that the church was suppressing her, I’m more Agnostic than anything else, but Wicca is my spiritual path, I know that sounds kind of strange, but for me it is what I feel is the right path, I do not believe there is an omnipotent being who created everything and controls all our lives, who sits in judgment but at the same time has our lives planned out to the minute.
Some of the things your Sunday school teacher did not tell you (trust me I know I went to Church and Sunday school for many years, but I refused to be indoctrinated and asked all the wrong questions)
- According to the bible only 114000 Men will go to heaven, no women, no children no matter how faithfull you are, I'm guessing either the requirements are a lot stricter than we've been told, or the quota was filled about 1990 years ago. (Luke 12:32, Rev. 14:1)
- only the true Christians with their official name on "Romans 16:16" and "Acts 20:28 (Lamsa Translation)" who were the only ones purchased by Christ's own blood will join him on Judgment day.
- Belonging to a church will NOT "save" you. Doing good deeds will NOT "save" you. Obeying the TEN COMMANDMENTS will NOT "save" you, paying the curch to obsolve your sins will NOT "save" you, giving the chruch 10% of you income will NOT "save" you. (Eph 2:8,9)
- The Church(Catholic or otherwise) was NOT ordained by God, by the Roman Emperor of the Time, nowhere in the Bible does God ordain the church
I can go on, but those should be enough for now, before I get myself in trouble.

| I woke up one day and reliazed that I am not a christian. I didn't plan changing my relegion it happened in small steps. In the beginning I just had questions, (question that my mother placed in my head),like how could God say you must forgive somebody for all there sins and in the next paragraph state and eye for and eye, but unlike her I didn't stop with the questions but start looking for answers. This is were my relegion started changing and I am truly glad it did change. |

Lol. this text just cought my eye and i had to just say this
On the last "big hoela beloeha" meeting of one of these christian meetings,. the heads or high priest or what ever you want call these religious leaders, decided that the bible is not realy "correct" and that they have more say than their holy book. lol.
Recon it is some thing like "Who are they to say that the bible is their gods only word"?
Maybe they are gona relay the truth about their religion and say that it was made up to keep people from thinking straight. lol
just found it funny
