Last nite I was meant to go to see someone regarding business and had got my areas mixed up: the lady was staying in DoornPOORT and I had got mixed up with DoringKLOOF... so, off I go with the GPS set to the correct address.
I notice that the GPS is taking a strange route, but I thought maybe it is because I am approaching from a different angle and I in anycase don't know the area that well... so I keep on driving.
As I get on the N1 travelling further North, I suddenly remember where DoornPOORT really is! Okay, cool. No sweat. Let's go... might be a minute late according to the GPS, but I'll get there.
And then...
It HITS ME!
TOLLGATE!
... and I don't have a single cent on my. Not a card or anything...
I ended up phoning the lady and not wanting to sound unprofessional, had to lie by saying to her I had a bit of car trouble and would need to reschedule. Oi gewahlt! I could have PLATZED...
So I went home and Elford arrived with food but I was in NO mood to watch telly so I dug into the drawers and pulled out a DVD. "Hocus Pocus" with Bette Midler. What a joy! What fun! And it's reminded me that sometimes we need to put the joy back into our lives by FORCE! Not the movie, though, but just the simple act of deciding between what will give you joy and what will be reminding you of the sad state of the world.
Sistahs! Let's BRRREEEWWW!
