Greetings All
Modified By Forum Moderator on 2006/02/25 09:47:07 AM)

I have two young children that still do not know you cannot share your whole life with everyone.  Problem is how would people treat them if they find out they do not come for a traditional Christian upbringing.  My best friend in School was a Catholic and she wasn't always treated very well, and it's not like Catholicism as a minority religion like wicca.  Will they crucify our children because they are different.

as a result I have not yet told them what religion i am following.  Is there any one out there with the same problem?

Re: Greetings All

Hi Mantis1,

A lot has changed for us since my wife posted that message, (The Page Master is the sites Moderator Persona), although we still don't openly share our religious believes with others, we don't exactly hide it either, starting Dragons Den has in a way forced us to be more open to others and with our children, my daughter (8) now actively partakes in full moon celebrations etc, and my son (6) loves joining in the drumming during celebrations (and they love the idea of having “Christmas” twice a year).

We don't force our believes on them and will always allow them to make their own decisions, as for how they will be treated at school because of our beliefs, we’ve found that the other children don't much care about such silly things and when it comes to the grownups, well we handle the occasional attempts at conversion with mirth and understanding.

Re: Greetings All

Hey there Mantis1

I know a few pagan and wiccan couples with children in primary school. Actually, their kids are very well adjusted to the whole situation. Some of the younger ones don't fully comprehend whats going on, but for the most part, all the children and parents do well. Far from starting a family of my own, I couldn't even begin to imagine the stress of bringing a child up in this world. Your girl must mean so much to you and I'm sure you only want the best for her. So trust in yourself. But it would be great if we could have wicca shcools for our kids. All the best to you and your daughter.

May peace be upon you.

Re: Greetings All
Hello Mantis1,

This is not always easy, but you should not worry. I always believe that you must trust, and the God and Goddess will look after you, and provide what you need at the time you need it.

Also remember that children are much more ready to accept than adults.

If you live in South Africa, you can also know that we live in a beautiful country that is still constantly changing and growing. Also in the area of religion.

I trust that with time, all will work out well for you. Also know that here on the Forum at Dragon's Den, you can feel free to ask whatever you want to know. You will always be treated with respect and honesty.

In love and light,

LunaRiver
