Re: New to the Wicccan Path

Hello Fellow Faerie!

Welcome and nice to see a new face - especially one that is new to the path, too! From me, I see myself as a "New Age Christian" who is learning about Witchcraft and Magick myself. I am in Centurion, also.

But as Ladyhawk and Amon will tell you, that is what this forum is all about! Making contact and learning about the Art, about Magick, and everything Pagan.

Love 'n Light 'n Abundance,

Nico

Re: New to the Wicccan Path

Greetings *-*Fairy-Girl*-*

I too am new to this and have been doing alot of reading. And I stay in Pretoria.

I would like to talk to like minded people as well as i see conversation to be one of the best ways to learn. I have been reading a lot, but the content is becoming rather repetitive now and i want to and YEARN to talk to people that are LIVING the the path.

I wonder what i would have to do in order to get a mentor/teacher?? I am starting out as a solo practitioner, but that doesn't mean i have to stick to myself!

Please feel free to let  me know. Oh ja, what exactly does a wiccan course entail,...? mmmh.. haha

Blessed Be.

Re: New to the Wicccan Path

Hello, I'm new to the Wiccan path too. I'm only 19 and grew up christian - protestant but we aren't that religious. I don't feel like that religion is "right" for me.

I've basically just started this year (February to be exact) so I don't really call myself  Wiccan because I haven't been initiated or performed a self-initiation. I just call myself a Pagan for now and I haven't yet decide which Wiccan path I want to follow. I just keep reading as much as I can and I'm doing an online course in Wicca called "Wicca Revealed" at www.magickaschool.com. I think it's very good so far. The first course, which takes a year to complete is free. Then you get a 20 week course in basic Tarot reading. After that you have to start paying for the courses.

I just read through the first part of the course "An Introduction to Wicca". The topics included were Witches, Wicca and Witchcraft: General Beliefs and Practices, The History of Wicca: Some of it's Key Personalities and Traditions, A research project where you have to write a report on 2 different traditions/paths of Wicca and two ways to meditation techniques (the tree and pentagram visualization). I think it's a good course so far but I still check their references because you can't believe everything you read.

I've also been taking note of the different phases of the moon and acknowledge the Sabbats. I don't do any rituals yet because I don't think I'm ready and I can't really write my own either because I don't know how yet.
