Mine is a huge red and golden dragon also known as Fafnir.  I only experience him in meditations and some times he is not in a mood to talk, so he will show me a glimps of himself and dissapear. 

I use to have a little black cat also following me around for a while, we have never spoken but you will see him/her moving just inside your view and when you look there would be nothing.  This little one would also sometime stay behind in the shop and show him/her self to my mother who see things easier than I do.

As for your question whether everyone has a spiritual guide the answer is yes and usually we have more than one, we just don't always know how to communicate with them or are just not ready for contact with them yet.
